Okay, so here we are at 39 weeks & 5 days. It’s about 12:45pm & at this point in time during my pregnancy with Dominic I was on my way to Presbyterian to get checked in for my 3pm cesarean. I’m so glad I’m waiting for baby brother to come on his own even though I am super anxious to meet him! The closer we come to the big day the more I realize how very special each & every minute truly is. In an effort to hold onto every wonderful moment I have decided it's about time I start documenting our memories.
Last night Dom woke up from a rare late nap to spend some time with Nana & I, it is a memory I will never forget. My sweet little boy was being so cute & sweet. Dressed in his “man jammies” he was charming us with coy looks, hugs, kisses, cuddles & he was even rubbing & patting Nana’s back like we do to comfort him. We shared a bowl of cereal (or two ;) ) & talked to daddy on the phone for the first time. Dom is starting to understand the phone a little better & was really tickled to hear daddy’s voice, well, until dad asked him if he was supposed to be in bed? The look of “Oh my goodness we’re busted! How does he know?” was priceless!!!!
It was after 9 o’clock when Nana & I decided to stop being selfish & put my dreamy little boy to bed. I was shortly behind him & to my surprise he was still awake in his crib when I came in the bedroom to go to sleep. I couldn’t resist picking him up & putting him in bed with me to cuddle. His curls smelled so sweet & he was so content snuggled up close to me. Every now & then he would lift up his head , look at me with those big blue eyes & grin that perfect happy baby grin. We slept that way cuddled up close until daddy came home. My sweet little angel was so tired he didn’t wake up when I laid him down to sleep the rest of the night in his own bed.
